B1T: "I want to win more Majors than Astralis. I want to win as much as humanly possible" Exclusive

NAVI's young star Valerii "B1T" Vakhovskyi shared his dream to win more CS:GO Majors than Astralis. He also touched on his relationship with former academy teammate m0NESY and revealed how family presence affected his performance at Antwerp Major. He spoke to Maria Gunina for Escorenews at IEM Cologne 2022.

On IEM Cologne

For me that’s a very cool tournament with a lot of fans, great stage. It always evokes emotions. Major is very important and cool, but there are also other important tournaments which you should pay attention to.

On playoff teams

First of all, every team that got to the playoffs deserved it. Those that didn’t — didn’t. They didn’t train enough, didn’t practice enough. They got what they deserved and left for their vacation a bit early. [Are unexpected results connected to the player break?] It’s possible, I don’t know the other team’s mindset, but there is a possibility someone wanted to go on a vacation a little earlier and didn't work hard enough. For me that’s unacceptable.

Valerii "B1T" Vakhovskyi

Did he talk with m0NESY about his result?

I’m trying to not talk about these things, since I understand how uncomfortable that is. It’s awkward for me to ask that. Team matters should remain in the team. So I don’t ask things that should never leave the squad. We both have such boundaries, and we do not violate them.

On NAVI’s top-1 in HLTV rating

First of all, that feels nice, starting the playoffs as top-1 of the world, but overall that doesn’t mean anything. The team that will win the tournament will go on vacation knowing that they are top-1. The most important thing is how we perform and play, what results we have. It doesn’t matter who is against us.

Valerii "B1T" Vakhovskyi

Will B1T’s family go to Cologne?

They will cheer for me online. It’s sad that we couldn’t win the Major when they were in the arena, but at least we will try to win this.

When you know you have your family in the arena, it’s a bit different. It might distract you a bit, but maybe that’s just due to lack of experience, since it was the first time. I remember that I was getting distracted by it a bit during the first playoff match, but on the next I managed to control it.

On fans in the arena

Everyone has additional motivation because of them. It really influences me, especially when the arena is packed. And I know this time there is a sell out, so I can’t wait for matches.

Valerii "B1T" Vakhovskyi

On his CS dream

First of all, I want to win more Majors than Astralis. I want to win as much as humanly possible. Then I want to win as many Intel Grand Slams as possible, and other tournaments as well — Katowice, Cologne, EPL, and other stuff.

Valerii "B1T" Vakhovskyi

To overcome Astralis, Valerii will have to win at least four more majors. But considering he is still 19, maybe it's not as impossible as it seems. Coincidentally, NAVI's next opponent in Cologne will be Astralis, who just beat MOUZ in the quarters. The semifinal is scheduled for July 16, 15:30 CEST.
