Dosia: "The only issue of female esports is the amount of it"
2022-06-25 17:17:00Mikhail "Dosia" Stolyarov commented on the state of female esports. In his eyes, the main and only issue women competitors has is the amount of players. He expressed his opinion on a personal stream on Twitch when answering a question from a fan.
[Do you believe in female esports or not?] I don't understand your question. What does it mean? The only issue of female esports is the amount of it. Compared to guys, there is a very low number of players, basically none. That means there is lower competition, which means slower growth and progress. If there were more players, it would be much better. Yes, there are some girls who are ready to compete with guys. But you can count them on one hand. Imagine if instead of 10 players like that there would be a 1000. This talk would be completely different, right?
Dosia is a long-time veteran of the scene and a Major champion. He started his career more than 15 years ago and saw Counter-Strike esports grow to its current state with his own eyes.
His biggest success in the recent years was achieved with Gambit Esports. In 2017 the team took everyone by surprise and won PGL Major Krakow 2017. After leaving Gambit in 2019, he played in few smaller teams, even competed in China, but didn't reach any significant results.
