S1mple becomes first ever to grab 20 MVP awards, overtakes dev1ce

NAVI’s victory in BLAST Premier Spring Finals 2022 brought Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev his 20th career MVP title. He became the first player in history of Counter-Strike to ever achieve so many of these awards.

Simultaneously, he overtook Nikolai "device" Reedtz from NiP by this metric. Before this tournament, both had 19 MVP titles.

S1mple finished the event with 1.37 HLTV rating on 12 maps. He was the best by KPR (0.88), KD-difference (+88), AWP kills (115) and other stats.

BLAST Premier Spring Final 2022 was running on 15-19 June. Eight teams fought for $425,000 and the BLAST World Final invite. In the grand final, NAVI defeated Vitality with a 2-0 score and a dominant round advantage (16:8 and 16:5). The Eastern European team played with sdy as a stand-in while electronic debuted as the IGL.
