M0nesy debuts in the Major styling on Liquid

G2 Esports started their run in PGL Major Antwerp 2022 with an overwhelming defeat of Team Liquid. The bo1 happened on Inferno with a final score of 16:6.

G2’s 17-year-old star Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov showed no sign of anxiety during his major debut. The Russian prodigy finished Inferno with a 20-10 KD, almost like his Bosnian teammates (NiKo 20-10, huNter- 21-10). His four kills on the defense became one of the highlights of the match.

Liquid couldn't find a weakness in G2's defense up until late in the first half, which ended with a score of 13:2. Liquid started to come back on CT, but the gap was too big to catch up. NiKo and huNter- brute-forced their way through American defense in two final rounds to seal the deal.

G2 went to a 1-0 group to wait for their next opponent. Vitality and Bad News Eagles also earned their spots in the winners' group.

PGL Major Antwerp 2022 is running in Belgium from 9-22 May. 24 teams are fighting for a million dollars prize pool.
