Donk: "Other Team Spirit players like Dust 2, but not me. So far it's the most uncomfortable map for me" Exclusive
Danil "donk" Kryshkovets, Team Spirit's young talent, gave us a post-match interview after defeating Aurora Gaming 2:0 at BetBoom Dacha Belgrade 2024. The player admitted that he is less comfortable on Dust 2, first map of the match, and explained how Aurora managed to turn the Ancient around for a bit before succumbing to Spirit's pressure.
[On coming back to playing after such long break]
— I really, really missed the scene. It wasn't hard to get back into it. Took some time, but still.
[About small Ancient comeback by Aurora Gaming]
— There was no relaxing on our side. It's not the first time for it to happen to us. The opponents broke the trajectory of the game. They won the forcebuy round, the second buy round. We made these mistakes, didn't play some clutches right and made bad decisions. No one relaxed. Our opponents played well.
[Is it easier to play the first match against an underdog?]
— It's the same thing if we play against some underdog or against someone like MOUZ. Aurora is also a relatively good team. It makes no difference if it's an underdog or a favorite, you need to play your CS. It doesn't matter who is against you.
[Do you want to play MOUZ?]
— Obviously, I want to play them. They are ESL Pro League S19 champions, that’s the last tier-1 event before this one. They are a good team in a good form.
[On the return of Dust 2]
— Other Team Spirit players like that map, but not me. So far it's the most uncomfortable map for me. I have the least amount of practice on it. I practice it in the same way as other maps. Can't say it needs anything special.
[About being top-1 at FACEIT]
— I just want to take first place. But I'm also playing for fun, not necessarily chasing that result. That’s not something I'm ready to sacrifice other things for, just some bonus. I play, I succeed — that's fun. I was doing the same in the first season.
